What Is The Best Way To Send Someone A Large File

April 1, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

I guess we have all been there at some point, you type up a nice e-mail and attach a few (what you thought were) photos taken on you latest 10 or 20 megapixel camera and then press the send button. After you wait what seems like an age you then get a message telling you that the file is to large, how annoying is that?. The problem is though that large file transfer is an issue.

If you travel for business, this can be a huge problem, as you may need to be sending large files all the time.

As a local business sending large files and photos can be a problem so I spoke to my local computer repair company who were very helpful and gave me some very sound advice.

It seems that videos are becoming more popular online, you may have a hard time sending these out as well. Photos and videos are getting larger and longer, thanks to advances in digital photography, and sometimes, there is no way to share these without displaying them publicly online.

For large file transfers e-mail is simply not the way forward so you will need to do some checking online and find a different methodology. Because the problem is becoming prevalent there are a number of companies that provide solutions for business users and home users too.

You will find sites, can be used to send just about anything. Some will save the information on their server for a period of time, allowing the recipient a few days to a week to pick up the file on their own computer. After that time period, the file then disappears.

In reality there are a wide range of providers offering these services which at one time was simply unheard of, but in true business fashion where there is a demand then you can be sure someone will come up with a solution.

When choosing a site for sending large files, you have a lot to consider. Price is a factor, as well as the size of the files that particular site can handle. If your file is too large, there may be no one who can handle the information. You may then have to chop it up into smaller pieces and send it that way.

If you find that you are sending large files online quite often for business purposes, your company may be able to come up with another solution. They may subscribe to such a service, or perhaps find a way to get around the problem all together.

For the time being , depending whether you need a business or home user large file sending service at least now you know that there are such services available online if you find your self in need of a quick fix or an ongoing solution.

Have You Made Online BackUp Part Of Your Business Continuity Plan?

There are quite a few different methods that you can choose if you are looking for effective data backup but the online data backup method is by far one of the most popular of all. With the right online data backup service you will have all the data backup protection that you are looking for and it also makes it much more convenient for you as well.

Imagine for example you have spent months working on your on your latest computer aided design project and your hard drive crashes, what would you do then if you did not have those valuable files saved elsewhere?

The purpose for the data backup is so that in the event anything were ever to happen to your computer, for instance if it were to get a virus or something else were to happen that disrupted or even completely deleted any of your files or personal information, you would have the data backup and so you would be able to get all the information back.

There are a few different technology and software options that you can choose from when it comes to data backup, including online backup (which is also referred to as remote backup) for one because it is so convenient and because it is often free as well.

There are many different methods that you can choose to use to backup your computer data in reality, but regardless there are a few things that you are going to require. All that is required to store your information on a drive or disk separate from your computer will depend on the method that you choose.

The first thing that you are going to need to do if you are trying to find the right online data storage backup is make a list. You want to find all the best online data backup service solutions and then make a list of maybe around ten, so that you have something to work with, a place to start.

You might like to try out the Storage Pipe online data backup services, their online backup and recovery service is one that is complete and operates over a secure connection to a remote data center.Their service provides you with an offsite corporate data protection solution that is completely secure and reliable, so you will never have to worry about losing important computer data again, that said there are other good providers around as well.

These are just a few ideas to get you started and give a few ideas about whats on offer. Business users will of course have far greater needs for backup and remote file access as they have to consider business continuity and disaster recovery options. Do a bit of research and understand what you need before committing to a solution.

For disaster recovery and business continuity you may be better speaking to one of the data recovery services companies as these often are very experienced in the requirements of business backup.

Get The Best Video Quality With HD Movies

Blu-ray movies are really cool. They offer really high quality picture quality. HD is the way of the future. After watching blu-ray I can’t even watch regular DVDs anymore. I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshal the other day on blu-ray in my home theater and it wasn’t even close to watching it on regular DVDs. And it is not just the picture quality that is better, the sound is incomparable. There is not enough that can be said about how wonderful these blu-ray discs are.

I have a high def television, and when I watch regular movies or even regular cable it seems like a waste. In realty it not even a good way to waste my day. I’d rather be reading or something like that as opposed to watching poor definition television. There are HD channels available, so that makes it better, but still I wish everything looked like blu-ray DVDs.

A lot of people have been put off blu-ray because they feel it’s too expensive. Yes it’s a little more money, but for the improved experience it is very worthwhile. They aren’t really overly costly. You can buy blu-ray movies online if you look for them. They really aren’t that expensive. One thing that can be said for sure is that they are worth the cost. Even if the cost was $75 each I’d still probably buy them. Quality is what I look for over price.

When I look at how far technology has come it really makes me wonder what is yet to come in our lifetime in the realm of television. I suppose thinking about that stuff to much is useless. I’ll just talk about the here and now. That’s why I don’t know why more people don’t get cheap blu-ray players. Again yes they are a bit expensive, but again yes they are worth it. Without mine I’d go crazy… not to sound crazy.

People are always in constant communication today unlike in the past decades, communication is only for a few people. But now most people has his own cellular phone, his own laptop, his own desktop computer and in his computer or laptop, there is sure to be installed VOIP (voice over internet protocol) install somewhere on the hard drive. With VOIP, they can get to call anyone they want through the Net without paying much for long distance calls. Do you remember what is like long ago to speak to an operator while you are trying to make some phone calls overseas and do you remember who much it cost just for a 20-second call or a 30-minute call? Yesterday, air time is very rare and friendly to your finances but today, because of technology, air time is also getting expensive. That’s why, there are VOIPs and one of them is in the form of Magic Jack.

Magic Jack is a type of VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol that relies on your computer’s internet connection in order to place calls locally or abroad. What you need is just a USB Cable and that’s basically it and upon receiving the cable or device, you can immediately start making calls. Upon installing the device to you computer via USB, the software is automatically transferred from the Web while you’re in the process of registering. Right now, a lot of people are using MagicJack rather than other VOIPs and they have good reasons why.

First of all, according to some Magic Jack reviews site, setting up MagicJack is very easy. And the best part is, they have a 24/7 tech who is on standby, willing to give you some additional information and help in setting up your Magic Jack. Magic Jack is also very affordable compared to cell phones. Sure, you might have some other network services like Yahoo! Messenger or Skype where you can also converse with everyone but if you want a less expensive way of calling anyone over the phone, then, Magic Jack is your best choice.

Mac gain 10% of Web Share

Web use statistics prove that the Mac continues to gain even more market share from Windows-based computers. According to various web analysts Mac web share has increased by 0.3% since December 2008 which is a staggering figure. Even use of Apple’s Safari browser have increased to 8.29 percent in January, up from 7.93 per cent in December. However some of those Safari hits come iPhone and iPod touch users and others come from people who are fooled into installing Apple’s browser on their Windows machine.

The strong percentage increase in December could of been down to the fact that people are more inclined to stay at home where the Mac is more of a home computer rather than business so that may explain it. However even though people returned to work in January 2008 which is a sign that Windows is really starting to loose its grip on the web market.

The seemingly minor monthly rise works out to an annualized rate of 3.6% and 3.6% rise in market share is far from small potatoes especially considering that in the declining market through which the world is currently grunting and groaning, every user is precious. Apple always seem to do better with machines for the home rather than the business because they are far more fun and easier to use. Windows machines are normally used in the office for business where Windows machines are very useful.

This is just adding to the ever growing battle between Windows and Apple Mac which seems to never end. Personally, I really don’t mind either machine interface. They offer unique things depending on what you want to use it for. Either home or office. The choice is entirely up to you! Although I personally use Mac machines as they are far easier to use and never let you down. Windows machines are more inclined to work for about two or three years and thats it.

If you have questions about registry cleaners, and how to effectively maintain your registry file system, then this guide will help you out. In particular, we are going to talk about some of the common reasons why people turn to registry cleaners, answer the question of “how can I fix my registry system”, and discuss the quickest ways to fix frustrating PC errors. By the time you’ve finished reading this article, you’ll be able to fix your computer problems with ease.

First, let’s talk about why you need Windows registry repair software. Perhaps the speed of your PC isn’t what it used to be? Does it take a long time to start and turn off your computer? Do your application take a long time to load, or won’t close without getting “not responding” errors? If so, then it’s likely you will receive a lot of benefits from repairing your registry system.

You’re probably asking yourself: how can I fix my registry? The usual method for getting this done is to use the Windows built-in “regedit” application. If you know what you’re doing you can use this method, but it’s still very long-winded and time consuming. On the other hand, you could just take your computer back to the store where you bought it and pay them (possibly several hundred dollars) to repair the problems for you.

But more and more people are turning to registry repair tools to do this work with just a few clicks. The only steps you need to take are to install a registry repair program, allow it to scan your hard drive for errors, and let it fix them automatically without hassle.

So which of these options is the easiest way to fix registry problems? You can probably tell already that using a registry cleaner is the cheapest and easiest option. The best registry repair tools will automatically detect these frustrating errors and fix them quicker than you ever hoped possible. This means you won’t need to “reformat” your computer, reinstall software, drivers and more, and you won’t even have to take your PC back to the store and let them fix it for you.

To summarize, this guide has given you answers to your questions on registry cleaners, shown you how to clean your registry manually, and explained why using a registry cleaning application may make the whole process much easier for you. Now that you have finished reading this article, you should know the easiest and most effective ways of cleaning your registry system.

Computer Hardware Software Working in Tandem

March 26, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

computer hardware software

In order for your computer to run you need to be utilizing both computer hardware software and they must be working as a team. These are vital components no matter if they are desktop computers or notebooks. Without one you cannot use the other. Should one crash, you will need to have the other in order for the computer to be worth more than just a paperweight sitting there dead in the water. Lucky for you, there is plenty of information on the internet that explains how these two components operate.

Computer software is different than hardware in that these are the programs, procedures and documentation that cause the computer to be operated by the user. The software is classified into three different categories. The first is system software. The system software helps the computer run. The second class is the programming software which allows the programmer to write new programs. The final category is the application software. The application software is any non computer related tasks.

Desktop computers and notebooks consist of tangible products that cause the computer to run. These include any memory modules such as RAM (Random Access Memory), mouse, keyboards, and all circuitry components within the machine such as mother boards, sound cards and video cards. Even your power source is a vital asset that makes the machine run. The term “software” can be attributed to John W. Turkey in 1958, though there were earlier essays and theories dating back to the 1930s.

Computer hardware software works together. The software is loaded onto the hardware so you see how vital each system is and how they must work together for the computer to operate. This is especially important in the case of memory modules. Without both components you would have a machine that could not run or a machine that could not access memory.

Computer hardware software works together and you must know that your computer memory software is loaded directly onto the RAM chips. How much information is stored and how fast the computer can access the information is determined by the software working in tandem to store the information onto the hardware. Most users never have to worry about the software outside of installing certain programs onto their computer. The same goes for the hardware. Outside of the keyboards and mouse, you really will only need to worry about system requirements and storage.

Earn A Larger Salary By Increasing Your Computer Skills

Computer training comes in all forms, such as online, classroom, on-the-job and at-home/software. They range from in-depth career training to instructing on a one to  one type of software program

IT is impacting all areas of business today and many people are finding themselves drawn to an IT career whether it is in computer support and repair or a more artistic field like web design or computer graphics or even data recovery services.

Salaries vary in the IT industry but the  U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts tremendous growth in this field, estimating a 27-53% increase by 2016. The average salary for someone working in the computer industry fluctuates between $50,000 and $80,000, depending on the specific job title. On the low end of the spectrum are analysts; while at the high end are engineers.

Computer training comes in all manner of forms so if you were taking Microsoft certification this will demonstrate to employers that you have a mastery of Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista. The Technology Series allows you to become a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), which showcases your ability to build, troubleshoot, debug and implement a Windows server, Microsoft .NET framework or Microsoft SQL server.

However, when contemplating a career change, local colleges offer more in-depth computer training courses like computer engineering, troubleshooting, networking and programming.

Computer training varies widely. Beginners can take basic computer classes that teach how to turn on a computer, set up passwords and customize the desktop. Students will find out how to save information on a hard drive, flash drive and CD/DVD ROM drive, as well as how to retrieve and organize their files.

Higher levels of training offer specific software computer training for programs like Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat or Quicken. They will learn how to install and replace plug-and-play programs and install video cards, modem cards or firewalls and  depending on your course you could work in a number of fields. For instance, computer programmers write and test programs and problem solve using computers.

If you just want to beef up your basic skills though then it would be worth asking one of  the local computer repair companies as often the offer computer help as well.

Keeping up with all of your important tasks can often be a difficult chore. You do not have the time and patience to lug around a laptop to keep track of your important appointments, not to mention it can be difficult to find the space you need to set it up. You need something that can keep track of your appointments, let you work on important documents and be able to send emails, all the while allowing you to make and receive calls. What you need is a Smartphone.

The BlackBerry Curve has really made a comet entering into the market, read BlackBerry Curve 8330 Reviews.

Are you sick and tired of lugging around an appointment book, a cell phone and a laptop just to stay connected with work and friends? Are you tired of forgetting important appointments and not being able to communicate on the fly? Then perhaps there is an answer to your communication and scheduling dilemma. You may need to look into purchasing a Smartphone to help you manage your busy schedule.

The invention of the Smartphone is nothing new. It has been around for quite some time in the form of PalmOs and Blackberry. However, more companies are joining in on the race to create a versatile phone that can run all of the applications that are needed by the user. You can thank Apple’s iPhone for prodding more companies into creating Smartphones.

The PalmOs and the Blackberry was perhaps two of the most commonly used Smartphones in the business, but thanks to some prodding by Apple’s iPhone, the other companies are jumping in to produce a Smartphone. They want to keep their customers and be able to offer them the latest technology in competition with the Blackberry and the iPhone. Do you still have questions about whether a Smartphone is right for your personal and business needs?

So why use a Smartphone? Well for starters, they are incredibly versatile. Most phones prior to 2008 were running on Windows Mobile 5, but with the debut of Windows Mobile 6, more applications have opened up for use and there is more processor speed behind these small cell phones. The iPAQ Pocket PC is a prime example of faster running speed, but lacks the communication power of the iPhone. The iPhone has definitely set the standard for cell phones!

If you find yourself in the market for a Smartphone, then you absolutely cannot go wrong with the iPhone; however, keep in mind the other major players in the industry. You may not pay as much as you would for the iPhone, but you still get the same capabilities. The iPhone still has a hefty price tag of $399 and new Smartphones can be purchased for less with a new contract from a cellular provider.

The iPhone is a great phone to own, but it does have its drawbacks, namely a hefty $399 price tag. With a new Smartphone, you may be able to get a substantial discount by opening up a new contract with a cellular provider. The best thing you can do is to shop around to find the best deals that have the capabilities that you need and want, all wrapped up into one very useful package.
